Tutorial:

RNA-Seq data analysis with Galaxy for clinical applications

Speakers:

Markus Wolfien, University of Rostock

Andrea Bagnacani, University of Rostock

Day: Friday, September 11

Length of tutorial: full day

Technical level: medium

Description

The tutorial aims at getting participants familiar with: (i) the Galaxy framework for carrying out scientific data analyses, (ii) methods for data, exploration and quality control of NGS datasets, (iii) concepts underlying genome alignment and data visualization of subsequent results.

We provide a summary of the current use and future applications of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies in the clinical context. This is carried out with a hands-on session on RNA-Seq data analysis, and a demonstration of a real-life scenario to showcase data analysis of clinical NGS datasets.
